Elementary students trounce high schoolers in Spanish competition

East Iredell Elementary School’s dual immersion students emerged victorious over West Iredell High School’s Spanish students in the first ever Spanish-language-arts challenge in Iredell-Statesville Schools on Friday.

Held as a way to test the skills of each group of students and promote efforts to become bilingual, the entertaining -- but tense -- match of Spanish abilities pitted third-and-fourth graders from East Elementary against Spanish 3 and 4 students at WIHS.
