Randy Keath STATESVILLE Randy Michael Keath, 58, of Statesville, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at the Gordon Hospice House. He was born April 18, 1955 to the late James "Jim" Keath and Maxine Pryor Keath, who survives. Randy was a graduate of Moberly High School and served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was married to Patti Maybray Keath, who survives. He worked at the U.S. Postal Service where he took pride in his job as "the mailman" and became great friends with the people he served each day. Randy was passionate about life. He loved playing tennis and he also enjoyed spending time with friends on the golf course, bowling, or singing Karaoke. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his sister, Denise Keath Hummel. Mr. Keath is survived by his mother, Maxine P. Smith of Statesville; wife, Patti Keath of Statesville; a son, Jason A. Keath of New York, N.Y.; two daughters, Sherri Willis of Columbus, Ohio and Tracie Walker of Hamptonville; a brother, Scott Keath of Statesville; and a sister, Sherri Keath of Statesville. He is further survived by five grandchildren, Brittany Dobbins, Preston Walker, Landon Walker, Brianna Phillips, and Stone Willis. Funeral services for Randy Keath will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the Nicholson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will visit with friends this evening, Tuesday, Feb. 4, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at Nicholson Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Matt Gibson, Todd Goulds, David Patterson, Joel Elliott, Kevin Sharp, Steve Rinehart, Scott Rymer, and Donald Lierly. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or to the Navy Safe Harber Foundation, 1619 King St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
