A grand opening for the Mooresville Costco is planned for June 26.

Two of Mooresville's newest retailers will hold grand openings next month.

Academy Outdoors + Sports will host its grand opening on June 15-16 while Costco's grand opening is planned for June 26 at 8 a.m.

The highly-anticipated 152,000-square-foot membership warehouse will be a place of convenience for community members who have or plan to get a Costco membership.

Both are located at 392 Talbert Road, at the northeast corner of Interstate 77 and Brawley School Road.

Previously, residents of the area had to drive approximately 30 miles southwest to Charlotte or 40 miles southeast to Matthews to shop at Costco, a press release stated.

“We are thrilled to be bringing Costco’s low warehouse prices to the residents of Mooresville,” Troy Rea, the Mooresville Warehouse Manager said in a press release. “They have been asking us to open here for a long time, and we already have made an impact on the local job market. We look forward to contributing to the community in many ways.”

The new Costco location will be like many others as it will provide quality, brand-name and private-label merchandise such as Callaway Golf, Carter’s, Champion, Disney, Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and Kirkland Signature to name a few, officials said in a press release.

The Mooresville location will also feature a variety of specialty departments, including a gas station, fresh bakery, fresh meat, fresh produce, fresh deli with rotisserie chicken, optical department with an independent doctor of optometry, pharmacy, tire center, hearing aid center, food court, and beer and fine wine, a press release stated.

This warehouse will be the ninth Costco location in North Carolina, 537th in the U.S. and 774th worldwide.

Costco has 96 million cardholders throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, England, Scotland, Wales, Spain, France, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Australia and Iceland.

The Mooresville location will be providing jobs for around 200 people.

The warehouse will be open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Saturday from 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

More information will be released about the Academy Outdoors + Sports grand opening soon, coming officials said.
