NOTICE OF PARTY PRIMARY ELECTIONS Primary Elections for the Constitution, Democratic, Green, Libertarian, and Republican parties will be held in Cabarrus County on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. The polls will be open on that day from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Those voters registered as affiliated with the Constitution, Democratic, Green, Libertarian or Republican parties will be choosing candidates of their choice for the following offices: CONSTITUTION BALLOT: FEDERAL OFFICES DEMOCRATIC BALLOT: FEDERAL OFFICES STATE OFFICES COUNTY OFFICES GREEN BALLOT: FEDERAL OFFICES LIBERTARIAN BALLOT: FEDERAL OFFICES REPUBLICAN BALLOT FEDERAL OFFICES STATE OFFICES DISTRICT OFFICES COUNTY OFFICES All registered voters, affiliated with Democratic, Libertarian or Republican parties or unaffiliated, are entitled to vote the non-partisan primary ballot. Only voters registered with the Cabarrus County Board of Elections as affiliated with the Republican Party may vote in the Republican Primary. Only voters registered with the Cabarrus County Board of Elections as affiliated with the Democratic Party may vote in the Democratic Primary. Only voters registered with the Cabarrus County Board of Elections as affiliated with the Libertarian Party may vote in the Libertarian Primary. Any voter registered unaffiliated may request to vote in the party primary of the voter's choice in the Primary Election (Democratic, Libertarian or Republican only). However, if a Second Primary Election is called, the unaffiliated voter must vote in the Primary Election the voter voted in the 1st Primary Election. Voters who are already registered to vote need not re-register to vote in this Primary Election. Residents who are not registered to vote must register by February 7, 2020, to be eligible to vote in this primary. Also, a voter who wishes to change party affiliation, or who has moved since the last election, must make that change with the Board of Elections by the same date. A person may register to vote at the Board of Elections office at 369 Church St N, Concord, NC between the hours of 8 o'clock a.m. and 5 o'clock p.m. on Monday through Friday, or at any branch of the Cabarrus County Public Library, during the regular hours of that library. The voter may download a registration form from our web-page www.cabarruscounty.us/elections, complete the form and mail to our office at PO Box 1315, Concord, NC 28026 by the deadline. For other registration locations call the Cabarrus County Board of Elections at 704-920-2860. Any voter may vote by absentee ballot. The Board will begin mailing absentee ballots/applications on January 13, 2020 to those voters who have requested a ballot. Applications must be made by the voter or by a near relative. The deadline for requesting a mailed absentee ballot is 5 o'clock p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020. Absentee ballots are due back to the County Board of Elections by 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2020. One stop early voting in the office of the Board of Election begins February 13, 2020. For additional information or hours and days contact the Cabarrus County Board of Elections. Deadline for one stop absentee voting is Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 3 o'clock p.m. Registration facilities and polling places in most precincts are accessible to the elderly and persons with disabilities. In those instances where polling places cannot be made accessible, elderly and persons with disabilities may vote a ballot at curbside or request assignment to an accessible facility for the purpose of voting. Any voter is entitled to assistance in casting votes from an appropriate person of his or her choice.
