It’s time for another musical act in downtown Statesville.

Tonight, the modern rock, classic rock, 80s, blues, funk, pop, soul, metal and R&B band Soul Watt will take the stage in the Piedmont HealthCare Friday After 5 Summer Concert Series. The free concert runs from 5:30-8:30 p.m. in Downtown Statesville on West Broad Street in front of Mitchell Community College.

The cover band is based out of Hickory. Since 2005, the band members Randy, Thomas and Matt have performed more than 120 shows each year across the Southeast. The group incorporates light shows and music, according to a release from the city.

The concert is free.

Beer, wine, soft drinks, sweets from Andrea’s Ice Cream and Sweet Shop as well as hot dogs and brats from Wilson’s Weenie Wagon will be available for purchase. Bring chairs, but no pets, outside beverages or coolers.

Visitors can stop by the entrance to purchase tokens before heading over to the beer and wine tent. A selection of soda, water, wine, domestic as well as craft beer selections from local breweries including Fourth Creek Brewing and Red Buffalo Brewing are available for purchase.

The concert series will continue with Envision July 26, Motel Soap on Aug. 9, Mystery Hillbillies on Aug, 23 and Caribbean Roots on Sept. 6.
