South Iredell got a sniff Tuesday of knocking off West Rowan, the state’s top-ranked 3A team and third overall. The Falcons refused to let go of their undefeated season, though.

Rallying from a 2-1 set deficit and a pair of five-point holes in the fifth set, the Falcons emerged with a 25-6, 13-25, 28-30, 25-19, 15-12 victory that, barring a late-season letdown, assures they will win the North Piedmont Conference championship outright.
