Name: Rick Labuda
Car year/make/model: 1985 Chevrolet Camaro Z28
R&L: When and how did you acquire the car?
Rick Labuda: I purchased the Camaro in Concord last August.
R&L: Tell us about your car (specs, restoration work, unique items).
Rick Labuda: It is an all original Z28 with 37,000 miles on it, except for the tires and battery. It has a five-liter, 215 horse-power TPI fuel injection engine, automatic four-speed (manual wasn’t available as it couldn’t handle the torque) and glass T-tops.
R&L: Do you have a fun/interesting story about the car?
Rick Labuda: I sold my classic car 12 years ago after retiring. The Crossroads section on Sunday with all the interesting stories kept peaking my interest and I decided to hunt for the same kind of Z28 Camaro I had in 1985.
R&L: What excites you most about owning this car?
Rick Labuda: That I found an identical Camaro to the one I had and that its performance without the speed governor could reach 144mph.
