The new Academy Sports + Outdoors in Mooresville will be opening its doors Father’s Day weekend for its grand opening.

“ The store’s grand opening will take place on June 15-16,” said Shane Carlisle, public relations specialist of the East Region at Academy Sports + Outdoors.

The event will include prizes and events throughout the day. On each day, anyone 18 years and older can line up and win a mystery gift card valued between $20 and $500; all one has to do is be one of the first 150 customers and show proof of following the retailer on Facebook or Instagram. The first 250 customers get a free Academy Sports + Outdoors t-shirt.

There will also be Spin To Win prizes from Academy Sports’ brands including a Magellan Outdoors SwiftRise 8-person tent, Outdoor Gourmet 6-burner gas grill and Outdoor Gourmet Hill Country smoker, to name a few. There is also a deal allowing customers to get $150 off the Smith and Wesson M&P M2.0 9mm compact pistol without thumb safety.

On both Saturday and Sunday, customers will get the opportunity to meet Pro Angler Darren Gallaher and Strike King Angler David Fritts.

There will also be BBQ demos and free samples from BrisketU. These are some of the many activities the company has planned for the Mooresville location grand opening. This marks Academy’s seventh Charlotte metropolitan area store, after the opening of the Gastonia location earlier this month.

“At Academy Sports + Outdoors, we believe being active and playing together is crucial for strengthening bonds between families and friends. So whether you love getting loud during races at the speedway or spending quiet mornings on Lake Norman, your new store will have all the gear and apparel you need at prices you’ll love, so you can connect with those close to you and have more fun out there,” officials from Academy Sports and Outdoors store stated about the Mooresville location.

The grand opening hours for Saturday are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
