A Texas man wanted for aiding people in crossing the United States border illegally was recently arrested in Taylorsville, a press release from the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office stated.
On Monday at 5:45 p.m., officers with the Alexander County Sheriff's Office, Taylorsville Police Department and United States Marshal Service went to an apartment complex in Taylorsville concerning reports of a suspect wanted by marshals’ out of Texas, authorities stated.
Sheriff Chris Bowman said officers found 25-year-old Jessie Barnes and arrested him on a federal detainer for felony probation violation. The warrant for his arrest was issued May 30, after which Barnes fled law enforcement, the release stated.
He was taken to the Alexander County Detention Center and is being held without bond, Bowman said. Barnes is awaiting transport by the United States Marshals Service to Texas.
