A Charlotte man has been charged in a May bank robbery in Mooresville.
Tyrus McGee, 20, of Charlotte, has been charged in connection with the May 6 robbery of the First Citizens Bank on Medical Park Road in Mooresville.
The robbery was initially reported on that day at about 2:20 p.m., a news release from the Mooresville Police Department stated. When police arrived, employees of the bank said a man entered the business and passed a note to a bank representative demanding cash. No weapon was displayed, but descriptions of the suspect and a vehicle were provided by witnesses.
On Friday, the MPD identified McGee as the suspect, the release stated. He was already incarcerated in the Mecklenburg County Jail on unrelated charges when he was charged in connection to this incident. He received an additional $10,000 bond on the additional charge.
