A Greensboro man has been charged with multiple counts of trafficking in opium or heroin in Rowan County.
Joshua Marquis Byrd was charged with nine counts of trafficking in opium or heroin, two counts of possession of a counterfeit controlled substance and three counts of possession of methamphetamine.
Byrd received a $500,000 secured bond and is currently being held at the Guilford County Detention Facility, according to a news release from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
The arrest was the culmination of a 14-month investigation, according to a news release.
Byrd is a known gang member, the release states, and will be referred to federal authorities for prosecution.
