A man was arrested and charged with robbing a gaming lounge early Monday morning in Salisbury.
Deputies said 34-year-old Michael Allen Pemberton was taken to the Rowan County Detention Center under a $10,000 bond. He was charged with misdemeanor larceny, break/force open a coin-currency operated machine and felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or distribute a Schedule VI controlled substance.
Employees at VIP Game Lounge, on South Main Street in Salisbury, told officers the man was playing video games inside the business before reaching into the machine and taking money back out of it.
He then broke into three more gaming machines and took money out of those, according to a police report, and then took off in a white Pontiac G6.
Deputies said the car headed north on Highway 29 toward Salisbury, and police found a car matching the description at 128 Rowan Mill Road.
Deputies said a search warrant was obtained and officers entered into the home and found Pemberton with a handgun, marijuana packed for sale and a large amount of money.
