A Mooresville man was charged with breaking into an outbuilding in late June.
Cody Brice Briggs, 28, of Wildwood Acres, Mooresville was charged with two counts each breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and one count of larceny of a firearm. A magistrate set bond at $25,000.
Iredell Sheriff Darren Campbell said a man reported his outbuilding was broken into June 27 and several items, including tools, were taken.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division canvassed the area and talked with the victim, who reported additional items, including a welder and several saws, were missing.
Detectives developed Briggs as a suspect, and obtained warrants for his arrest.
Campbell said Briggs was wanted in connection with a break-in in March on Wrights View Lane in Mooresville. The victim reported guns and cash were taken.
Warrants were obtained in that case and Briggs was entered into a criminal database as a wanted person.
On Sunday, Briggs was arrested in Cornelius, Campbell said.
Briggs’ criminal history includes charges of common law robbery, breaking and entering, larceny burglary and obtaining property by false pretense and the North Carolina Department of Correction validated him as a member of the Folk Nation gang, Campbell said.
