A Salisbury man is facing multiple drug charges following a five-month investigation, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reported.
On Thursday, Muquan Bashier Ali Kennedy, 25, was arrested on 10 counts of trafficking in heroin and five counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver heroin. The sheriff’s office said the arrest was made by members of the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and Salisbury Police Department. Kennedy is being held at the Rowan County Detention Center in lieu of a $1 million secured bond.
The arrest came at the conclusion of an investigation that included the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office and Salisbury, Spencer and Mocksville police departments, a news release stated. Nearly 70 grams of heroin, estimated with a street value of more than $7,000, were seized in the operation, deputies stated.
The release added federal charges against Kennedy are also pending.
He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 23.
