A Mooresville man who was being monitored as a registered sex offender now faces drug and other charges.

Ryan Lewis Wilson, 35, of Keyside Lane in Mooresville, was charged with two felony counts of sex offender near a child premise, three felony counts of sell or deliver a Schedule I controlled substance (crystal methamphetamine), three felony counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver Schedule I controlled substance (crystal methamphetamine) and felony maintaining a vehicle/dwelling to sell controlled substance. He received a $100,000 bond from a magistrate.

On Wednesday, Iredell County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies and narcotics investigators arrested Wilson at his residence.

Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell stated, in a news release, that Wilson was being monitored due to his status as a registered sex offender. Through surveillance operations by narcotics investigators, it was determined he was involved in the distribution of crystal methamphetamine, Campbell said.

Officers from the North Carolina Department of Probation and Parole assisted investigators in locating Wilson, the release states, and plan to charge him with additional charges related to him being in violation of his terms of his probation.

He has a criminal history including felony second-degree kidnapping, failure to register as a sex offender, possession of Schedule II controlled substance (cocaine) and attempted failure to report address change.
