A registered sex offender living in Hiddenite was recently arrested for not complying with guidelines of the sex offender registry, Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell said.
On Monday the sheriff’s office charged, Jamie Clifton Jarvis, 34, with charged with felony failure to notify address change. He also faces felony post release and probation violations from the North Carolina Probation and Parole and felony failing to register with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, a news release stated.
The sheriff’s office received a report Friday concerning a registered sex offender not following policies of the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registration Program, Campbell said.
The release stated deputies were told by an N.C. Probation officer about a monitoring device indicating Jarvis was staying at a home in Hiddenite in the jurisdiction of Alexander County.
The sheriff’s office confirmed Jarvis hadn’t submitted a change-of-address for to authorities in Iredell County; nor had he registered with Alexander County law enforcement, Campbell said.
Jarvis received a $10,000 secured bond from a magistrate on the Iredell County charge, and an additional $35,000 secured bond on all other charges, the release stated.
The release further stated Jarvis has a criminal history involving larceny, abuse of the 911 system, indecent liberties with a minor and disseminating obscenity to a minor.
