A Statesville man was charged with possessing child pornography.
Jessie Leroy Glass Jr., 46, of Shiloh Road, was charged with six counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. He received a $100,000 bond.
Iredell Sheriff Darren Campbell, in a news release, said a report was filed with the sheriff’s office’s Special Victims Unit on Dec. 27, 2019.
The person filing the report told deputies Glass was in possession of child pornography.
Detective Sgt. Jason Lowrance began an investigation and spoke with several witnesses and obtained search warrants.
Based on information obtained through the course of the investigation, a search warrant for Glass’ residence was issued. Lowrance, along with SVU detectives, patrol deputies and Homeland Security agents, carried out the search warrant.
Campbell said detectives seized several electronic devices and a preliminary search found the items displayed numerous images and videos of child pornography.
Glass was arrested Tuesday. The investigation is continuing and additional charges are possible, Campbell said.
