I don’t think any reasonable person in America would disagree that our nation seems to be divided, pitting party against party and many times doing our best to disparage the other side.
There is no need to compare which side tells the most lies or which side would be the one most likely to be designated the “bad” guys. As we approach the midterm elections our emotions can be rattled and frayed. We are encouraged to vote our “values” and that is a word that like most any word can have a different meaning depending on each person’s interpretation of it.
In this world there is only one standard by which we can determine right from wrong, and that is the Holy Bible.
We must use God’s word as our guide on two main issues vividly defined in the Bible that have only one interpretation: “Thou shall not kill” and “Marriage is one man, one woman.”
We all know that making something legal does not necessary make that something right. What does God’s word have to say? The simple answer is that Christians are to obey human law except where that human law violates God's law.
Our supreme duty is to obey God. Since God tells us to also obey human laws, we should. But, when they come in conflict, we are to "obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29, King James Version).
