The Alexander County Library is hosting a new exhibit, Found: Art of Community.
The library invited regional artists of all ages to “interpret the ways in which we find, create, build, and share community,” according to a news release.
The artists used various artistic mediums, including painting, photography, mixed media collage and more.
The Alexander County Library will host an Art After Hours reception honoring all exhibiting artists on Friday, June 21, from 6–7:30 p.m. at the Main Library at 77 First Avenue SW in Taylorsville. Art After Hours will include an artist talk and activities centered around the exhibit's theme as well as potluck-style refreshments. Visitors can bring a dish to share. The reception will also feature a Heart of Community mural project in which guests can draw or write about what community means to them. The mural will remain on display as part of the exhibit.
The event is free to attend and all are welcome. The exhibit will be on display through the end of July.
