Generic give donations

The Lonely Children’s Fund is still taking donations to help make the year better for foster children.

The goal this year is $30,000 to serve the 173 children in foster care in Iredell County. As of Dec. 16, the group has raised $20,547.

It still has a little ways to go to make its goal for this season of $30,000. As a reminder, this fund helps these children throughout the year. It pays for field trips and graduation fees and even things most take for granted, like buying school photos or attending the prom.

Foster homes and group homes do receive stipends to meet foster children’s basic needs, but the stipends do not cover presents and parties for children in foster care. The Lonely Children’s Fund is used to provide for children so that they have a normal childhood.
