Naomi Wooten celebrated her 100th birthday Sept. 29 at Union Grove United Methodist Church. She arrived to her birthday party at the church in a 1941 Pontiac, driven and owned by Bobby Wooten.
Approximately 179 guests attended the milestone occasion showering her with gifts, cards and lots of love. A special moment of the party was when 20 cupcakes with five candles lit on each one were brought out and placed on a table as Naomi was serenaded with everyone singing “Happy Birthday.” She, along with a little help from friends, blew out the candles to the cheers of everyone.
Several years ago Naomi was featured on CBS News national broadcast as a 98-year-old matron of honor in a wedding at Union Grove UMC.
