The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office charged a 21-year-old man with breaking into an eastern Iredell home last month, attacking three people, and stealing jewelry and money.
Keith Eugene Lackey Jr. is facing several felony charges after his Oct. 15 arrest.
According to Capt. Randy Cass, the homeowner woke up in the middle of the night when he heard a woman screaming from another room. When the homeowner got up, he saw three armed men in the home.
The robbery happened at about 1 a.m. on Oct. 6 in the 1300 block of Shinnville Road near Cleveland.
Cass said the suspects took several items, including wallets, an iPad, medication and purses, then ran from the home. One person in the home who chased the suspects was attacked.
According to arrest warrants, that person was hit with the butt and magazine base of a pistol and a shotgun. Lackey also pointed a gun at two people’s heads as he robbed them, the warrant said.
Lackey was charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony breaking and entering, and assault with a deadly weapon.
He was given a $45,000 secured bond.
