Officials issued a silver alert Monday for a missing Mooresville teenager believed to have run away without her medication.
Sydney Elizabeth Morrison, 15, was last seen Sunday at 11:30 a.m., according to Maj. Andy Poteat with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities decided to issue a Silver Alert on her disappearance Monday because Morrison has a medical condition that requires daily medication.
“As far as we know, the medication she needs, she doesn’t have it with her,” Poteat said. “That adds a sense of urgency.”
No foul play is suspected and it appears that she ran away by choice. She was last seen on Wood Acre Drive south of Mooresville and was reported missing by her mom.
She may be near Grant Mountain Road in Marion.
Morrison is white, about 5-foot-4 and 180 pounds. She has long hair dyed blue and blue eyes.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at 704-878-3100.
