RICHMOND, VA. Patsy Beaver Chafin Butler, 75, of Richmond, Va., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, Wednesday, July 3, 2019, following a brave battle with cancer. A devoted wife, mother and friend, she will be missed by all who knew her. A native of Statesville, Pat moved to Richmond in 1970. A successful businesswoman, she co-founded Richmond's PIP (Pro) Printing in 1980, and ran the business until her retirement. She will forever be remembered by her customers as one who always took the time to chat with them and became friends with so many of her clients and employees over the years. She remained active in retirement, starting a second successful career in real estate. Always active, Pat was a gifted tennis player, loved gardening, and even hit a hole-in-one in a golf tournament. She loved her dogs and spending time with family at her second home on Hatteras Island. Walking on Avon Beach with her husband and Shih Tzu's was a particularly special pastime. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louise and John Beaver. She is survived by her beloved husband, Clarence Butler; her sons, Byron Chafin of Richmond, Bradford Chafin of Lewes, Delaware, their wives, Nancy and Barbara; and her grandchildren Devin and Charlotte Chafin. A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday July 14, at Bliley's Central Chapel, 3801 Augusta Ave., Richmond, VA. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m., prior to the service. There will be a reception after the service at Willow Oaks County Club, 6228 Forest Hill Ave. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Michael's Episcopal School Chapel Fund, 10510 Hobby Hill Rd., Richmond, VA 23235/www.stmschool.net.
