Just a jamming!
Mooresville High School will be once again serving as football central hosting a multi-team scrimmage jamboree later this week enabling as many as eight teams – including the Blue Devils – to draw the pre-season preparation phase to a close.
The Devils will be filling the role of the home team for the eighth annual Carolina Preps Football Jamboree.
Play in the affair will take place beginning at 6:30 Friday. A total of four scrimmage sessions, all scheduled to take place at one-hour intervals, will be held.
In addition to the host team, others in attendance include fellow Iredell County representatives South Iredell and Statesville along with Charlotte Christian, South Mecklenburg, Hickory, North Mecklenburg and Myers Park.
As has been the case in the past, attendance to view all four affairs comes complete with a single admission fee. Full refreshments will also be provided throughout.
The CPJ will take place exclusively at Mooresville’s home Coach Joe Popp Stadium.
As the host entry, the Blue Devils will be the ones hitting the stage in the last of the four scheduled showdowns. MHS will face off against Myers Park in the scrimmage set to take place featuring a 9:30 p.m. start.
The rest of the schedule finds Charlotte Christian taking on South Mecklenburg at 6:30 p.m., followed in order by South Iredell vs. Hickory at 7:30, and North Mecklenburg against Statesville at 8:30.
For all teams involved, Friday’s outings will account for their respective final scrimmages. All can embark on regular season play beginning on Aug. 23.
