One man was injured and another was arrested after an altercation over their pets fighting, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office reported.
On Monday, deputies were sent to a home on Grandview Lane concerning a disturbance, a news release stated. Cody John Adam Clark, 27, and Timothy Ramsey, 42, both of Lincolnton, got into a fight and Ramsey was hit in the head with a machete, deputies said.
The release stated the altercation happened after one of the men used a stick to try and break up a fight between the two men’s dogs.
Ramsey, who authorities said was injured, fled the scene and was later found by Lincolnton police.
Deputies reported he had a laceration on the head from being struck by the machete and was taken to Atrium Health—Lincoln for treatment.
Clark was arrested by deputies and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill/inflict serious injury. He received a $35,000 secured bond.
