Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office are searching for an Iredell County man suspected in a break-in that occurred over the weekend.
The sheriff’s office indicated is searching for Charles Thomas Robinette, 46, of Statesville. Officials have obtained warrants for his arrest on charges of felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, possession of stolen goods, second-degree burglary of an unoccupied building and larceny after breaking and entering. He’s also being sought for misdemeanor resisting/delaying/obstructing a public officer.
On Sunday, deputies went to a residence in Lincoln County after someone reported a suspicious vehicle near the home, a news release indicated. Authorities said they found a white Ford Ranger pick-up truck parked behind the home.
The release stated a deputy entered the building and saw a man standing behind a stand-up toolbox. He ordered the man to show his hands, but the man ran from the building; officers then chased the man as he fled, but lost sight of him in a neighborhood.
Deputies seized the truck, which they reported as being loaded with multiple items from inside the home, and contacted the owner of the truck who said it was being driven by Robinette, the release stated.
Authorities described Robinette as 5-feet, 9-inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds. They also said he has blue eyes and brown hair.
