A Statesville man has been arrested on charges connected with the sale of cocaine only a few days after his home was searched by law enforcement, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Dwight Antonio Brown, 40, of East Broad Street was arrested Monday. He was charged with felony possession with intent to sell/deliver a Schedule II controlled substance and felony maintaining a dwelling/vehicle/place to sell a controlled substance.
Brown received a $30,000 secured bond.
Sheriff Darren Campbell stated the following in a news release:
On Friday, deputies with the Narcotics Investigations Unit and Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of East Broad Street.
Investigators received information that the occupants of the home were involved distributing crack cocaine, and investigators identified Brown as a suspect after looking into the allegations.
Investigators were also able to purchase cocaine from Brown at his residence on several occasions, Campbell reported. He added Friday’s search uncovered an undisclosed amount of cocaine in the home.
Brown wasn’t home at the time of search, so felony arrest warrants were obtained for Brown and deputies tried to locate him throughout the weekend.
Campbell did not say where Brown was found Monday.
The release further stated Brown has a criminal history involving resisting arrest, breaking and entering, larceny, drug possession, possession of stolen goods, habitual felon, drug trafficking and conspiracy to sell drugs.
