A Statesville man has been arrested for intimidating a witness in relation to obscenity charges and other offenses, according to warrants.
On Oct. 8, 28-year-old Jerdarian Donzel Harper, of Fifth Street, was charged with felony intimidating a witness, selling/deliver obscene literature/exhibitions and disclosure of private images. He was also given misdemeanor charges of injury to personal property and resisting a public officer.
Harper received a $20,000 secured bond.
On Sept. 13, warrants indicated Harper posted two videos of the victim engaging in intercourse to the victim’s Facebook as a form of retaliation. They did not disclose what spurred the retaliation.
Harper then appeared at the victim’s home on Oct. 8 and caused more than $200 worth of damages to her car, according to separate warrants. On the same day, warrants also indicated that Harper tried to evade police by running on foot.
Warrants state that Harper resides at an address on Prosperity Lane, while the jail records show the Fifth Street address.
The Statesville Police Department is listed as the investigating agency in the arrest; it did not immediately respond to requests for more information.
State records state the Harper has a criminal history involving drug possession, assault, breaking and entering and burglary.
He is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 29.
