Historic Rural Hill has made the unfortunate, but necessary, decision to not open the Amazing Maize Maze for the 2019 season.

“Despite our best efforts, our corn field has experienced multiple difficulties, including a first attempt at a crop that did not emerge, and then extremely dry conditions over the last few weeks after replanting the field,” the group states in a news release.

“We look forward to the Amazing Maize Maze every year not only as a fun family- friendly farm event, but as a major source of funding for our cultural and education programs as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.”

The group will still host the 25th annual Sheepdog Trials and Dog Festival on Nov. 9-10 and, further down the road, the 2020 Loch Norman Highland Games on April 18-19.

Historic Rural Hill is a private nonprofit organization in Huntersville.
